Meter Repair Technician

At our manufacturing facility in West Union, SC, this meter repair technician will perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. This candidate will also be responsible for dismantling, adjusting, repairing and assembling equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair product failures due to manufacturing defects or component failure.
  • Change or replace any required parts i.e solenoids, contactors, capacitors, diodes etc..
  • Maintain a functioning line of communication with production (including internal vendors), supervision, R & D, departmental engineers, customer returns, and QC to resolve any reoccurring problems/defects.
  • Enter and maintain all defects tracking data at meter level, and provide required reports on designated periodic basis.
  • Issue a corrective action request if required by defect.
  • Repair production and test equipment or seek help from senior peers or engineers.
  • Assist in the construction and implementation of new equipment for development or production use.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)
  • Working knowledge of electronic test equipment i.e Voltage Meter, Current Meter, Oscilloscope.
  • Ability to use schematics to troubleshoot electronic devices
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits and components
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • 1+ years of related experience as a technician in a manufacturing environment.
