Overview
TISTA is seeking a Cloud/MLOps Engineer to manage CI/CD pipelines for analytics and ML products, oversee secure cloud deployments and containerized services, and ensure operational monitoring, reliability, access controls, and compliance with VA cybersecurity and ATO requirements. Responsibilities
- Own CI/CD for data & ML products design, build, and maintain pipelines that automate data ingestion, feature processing, model packaging, testing, and deployment across environments.
- Oversee cloud deployments & containerization manage infrastructure (e.g., AWS/Azure), Kubernetes clusters, service mesh, secrets, and access controls suitable for federal programs.
- Monitor & assure reliability implement observability for data/ML services (logs, metrics, traces), capacity and performance tuning, modeldrift alerts, and incident response playbooks.
- Compliance & ATO support partner with security to align controls, documentation, and automation with VA cybersecurity and ATO standards; integrate governance into pipelines.
- Collaborate across teams work with data scientists, engineers, and SMEs to translate models and analytics into resilient, scalable production services guided by federal AI competencies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4-7 years building and operating cloud platforms with CI/CD for data and ML workloads; handson with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience supporting secure deployments in AWS GovCloud or Azure Government, including identity/access, encryption, key management, and audit logging.
- Proven track record implementing observability (metrics/logs/traces), reliability practices (SLOs, autoscaling, rollback), and model lifecycle controls.
- Preferred familiarity with federal ATO processes and paymentintegrity analytics; working knowledge of OPM AI competencies and ethical AI practices for government.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data/Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Preferred Master's in Cloud/Distributed Systems, Machine Learning, or Applied Data Engineering.
- Plus Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), or security (Security+, CISSP).
Clearance:
- The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation.
