Under the general direction of the Manager of Enterprise Data Governance: the Senior Consultant uses research and client contact to direct the development and implementation of technology solutions that are best suited to the current and future needs of the business. Identifies the emerging trends in IT solutions in order to better align the needs of business operations with IT products and services. Actively seeks new opportunities for IT services and develops strategies to apply them for improved business operations. The Senior Consultant is a key IT partner to the operational business units and departments for the purpose of business/IT strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management. Provides valuable consulting support and guidance throughout key IT initiatives. Communicates decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests, projects and initiatives. Proactively shares knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business units and departments. Focuses on strategic initiatives and plans, proactive, anticipatory and driving in nature and provides significant value to business units. Facilitates the planning and execution of business changes through the use of technology. Serves a key role in enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of leadership experience in one, or a combination of, IT Management, IT Consulting or Healthcare Operational Leadership. Or a minimum of Four (4) years leadership experience in one, or a combination of, IT Management, IT Consulting or Healthcare Operational Leadership plus at least three (3) years in an IT analyst position where critical thinking, strategic thinking, and customer service were demonstrated.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a major project or complex change management effort.
  • Must be able to handle difficult and sensitive situations using sound, independent judgment within general policy and legal guidelines.
  • Proven track record in managing diverse teams, including highly skilled technical resources as well as developing team members of varying skill levels.
  • Ability to assign, guide, and monitor the work of others regardless of the reporting relationship (direct, project, indirect).
  • Excellent Strategic Thinker; possess ability to provide thoughtful leadership to develop creative solutions for complex business and technical problems.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Able to develop and present complex material effectively to a variety of audiences - technical and non-technical, staff, management and leadership.
