Job Summary
This position will provide custodial support for The University of Texas at Dallas campus. Duties will involve general cleaning, dusting, vacuuming carpet, picking up trash, responding to emergencies, picking up recycling, delivering custodial supplies and providing custodial support for events. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to read, write, communicate, understand written and verbal instructions in English. Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends if requested.
Minimum Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED. Six months of work experience is acceptable in lieu of a High School diploma or GED.
Preferred Education and Experience
1 - 3 years of custodial-related work in an educational environment.
Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean and restock the restrooms.
  • Respond to custodial-related building emergencies calls on the radio.
  • Deliver and restock custodial supplies inside janitor's closet.
  • Provide custodial support for the events on campus.
  • Vacuum carpet inside the buildings using a backpack vacuum.
  • Pick up trash, recycling materials and boxes.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver's License and an acceptable driver rating as established in Policy: UTS157 Section 2.5.4.
