Assembler / Tester - Electromechanical

We currently have an opportunity for a talented Assembler/Tester to assemble units and subassemblies to print using both power and hand tools and perform in process checks. In this role you will use hand tools, measuring equipment, AC/DC panels, etc. to measure and verify compliance of production units to blue prints and drawings.

In this role, you would typically:



  • Lay out and perform mechanical, electrical assemblies and sub-assembly on units in accordance with blueprints, MIL-Specs, build books and other specifications;
  • Set up, operate and use hand, machine and special tools, electrical devices and measuring equipment;
  • Use measuring instruments and electrical devices such as dielectric, insulation resistance and multi-meters, to inspect work and assure quality requirements are met;
  • Perform various tests on electro-mechanical devices and/or motors to assure proper functioning;
  • Select and utilize test, measuring and other equipment per Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and document quality and test results
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing units as required;
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.



We require:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent


  • 1 year experience working from blueprints and/or schematics to assemble and test electromechanical component parts, motors or similar electronics;
  • Experience must include working with at least 2 of the following: AC/DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, dielectric analyzers, multi-meters, mechanical measuring instruments, and/or soldering.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC power supplies;
  • Authorization to work in the United States.



Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

We would really like to see:



  • J STD-001 soldering experience
  • Knowledge of AC/DC power supplies
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical ability;
  • Experience using electrical and mechanical measuring instruments and hand tools;
  • Strong math skills, good oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills



Benefits and Compensation:
The pay rate for this position at commencement of employment is $26.36 per hour. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position."
