Job Summary

The Commercial HVAC Service Technician III is a senior-level field technician responsible for independently diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex commercial HVAC systems. This role serves as a technical lead in the field, mentoring junior technicians while delivering high-quality service to customers across healthcare, industrial, educational, and commercial facilities.


Essential Duties

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex commercial HVAC systems including:

    • AHUs, RTUs, VAV systems, and cooling towers
  • Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V)

  • Lead service calls and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Commission new equipment and support system startups

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance per contract scope

  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding system conditions, repairs, and recommendations

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to HVAC Service Technicians I & II

  • Accurately complete service reports, work orders, and documentation

  • Adhere to all safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies

  • Participate in on-call rotation as required


Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience

  • Strong experience with large-tonnage and complex HVAC systems

  • EPA Universal Certification (required)

  • Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and control diagrams

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls

Preferred Qualifications
  • HVAC EPA Universal certification

  • Chiller service experience (Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, etc.)

  • Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience a plus

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

  • Factory training or manufacturer certifications
