Job Description: IS4S is seeking a junior or mid-level Hardware Engineer (Electrical and/or Mechanical) with expertise in designing custom electronic enclosures with complex wiring harness, MIL-Spec connectors, and custom-embedded system processing to support military and government applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and sustainment of complex test systems for PNT (positioning, navigation, and timing) and avionics applications.

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop embedded, high-speed electronics for sensing, communication, and other equipment.
- Conduct feasibility studies, analysis, and simulation for new hardware designs, ensuring compliance with military standards and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Generate detailed hardware specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts for advanced hardware boards, custom electronic enclosures, and wiring harnesses with mil-spec connectors.
- Perform prototype testing, troubleshooting, and validation of avionics systems using the designed equipment.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in relevant tools and software for schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation (e.g., Altium, Cadence, SPICE).
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment: Oscilloscopes, power-supplies, signal generators, spectrum/network/logic analyzers.
- Familiarity with military standards and specifications related to electrical hardware design.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Electromagnetic interference and compatibility (EMI/EMC) principles
- Understanding of electronics thermal management
- Coding skills with Matlab, Python, and/or C++
- Design and analysis experience using industry standard tools (COMSOL, ANSYS, Matlab, Python, etc)
- Experience with avionics systems
