Description

Catholic Charities Maine Education Services for Blind & Visually Impaired Children (ESBVIC) is looking to hire a Driver/Reader for the greater Portland area.

ESBVIC is a statewide program that provides assessment, instruction, and consultation to blind and visually impaired children birth through 21, their parents, and school personnel.

About the Role: The Driver-Reader provides transportation to staff persons who are visually impaired or otherwise unable to drive and assists with reading and other visual tasks for which the staff person requires visual assistance. This position is roughly 12-20 hours per week

Salary: $16.75 - $18.65 per hour. Actual starting salary contingent with experience/qualifications.

Qualifications


  • Experienced motor vehicle driver with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Maintain a safe and reliable vehicle and show proof of vehicle insurance and current valid vehicle inspection.
  • Ability to read reports, letters, charts, and articles.
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
