The University of Virginia Library invites applications for a Shannon Library Public Services Manager to support the Information Services and Spaces team. The Information Services and Spaces team provides our patrons with access to collections, resources, and spaces as well as high-quality service to support them. Working in the Information Services and Spaces (ISS) team, this position manages the Shannon Library circulation desks while supervising library staff and student workers. This position will work with the Director of ISS to set the vision for public services in the newly renovated Shannon Library and will work to implement this vision, while coordinating and working with public service managers at other locations. ISS will serve as the pulse of the newly renovated Shannon Library, and this position will communicate and collaborate across library departments to ensure the library is welcoming, runs smoothly, and facilitates access to information. This position reports to the Director of ISS. This is an exempt position at the University of Virginia. Normal work schedule will be Monday-Friday, traditional work hours. Additional hours outside of the normal schedule are expected to occasionally happen based upon the needs of the organization and our patrons. Minimum Qualifications Education: Master's degree in Library Science or other academic discipline Preferred Qualifications
