ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for an Account Executive to join our Public Sector Southwest team. This position is hybrid, but the candidate should reside in Colorado. Frequent travel up to 50% is required, including overnight stays. The ideal candidate for this position must have outstanding leadership, sales, interpersonal, and decision-making and problem-solving skills. This individual must thrive in an innovative, dedicated, and collaborative company culture. This individual will be responsible for carrying out daily business development activities to achieve business unit goals and maximize profitability. Duties include prospecting, driving new opportunities, growing market share, ensuring regulatory and company standards are upheld, and consistently achieving individual and business unit targets. The essential functions of the position include:
- Support with developing and executing the company's overall mission, values, and strategic goals
- Identify opportunities to maximize the company's operating performance and achieving its financial goals
- Contribute to innovations, strategic business development, and the profitability of the company
- Drive collaboration across the organization to identify needs and develop scalable solutions
- Participate in internal risk mitigation meetings across the organization
- Drive new opportunities, increase sales, gain market share, support the delivery of projects within budget, and improve overall business unit profitability
- Support the development and execution of individual and business unit sales pipeline
- Maintain CRM for accurate business unit pipeline and sales forecasts
- Strategically identify, pre-qualify, and acquire prospects for the sale of energy saving performance contracts, turnkey construction projects, design/build, and alternative financed solutions
- Serve as key point of contact with customer and lead all presentations
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of project funding options, procurement requirements, project approval process, and contractual obligations
- Develop and maintain a complete understanding of all product and service offerings
- Leverage secondary product and service offerings to penetrate new accounts and engage with key decision makers
- Coordinate, support, and participate in business development promotions, conferences, and tradeshows
- Oversee the successful development, organization, strategic positioning, preparation, and issuance of winning proposals and presentations
- Attend project pre-bid meetings, review RFP and procurement documents, and carefully evaluate opportunities to support go/no-go decisions
- Assist in the development and structuring of partnership agreements and oversight of development and partner progress
- Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of company-wide business development best practices
- Assist in the development and implementation of business unit marketing plans
- Contribute to innovations, strategic business development, and the profitability of the business unit
- Maintain awareness of competitors, expansion opportunities, customers, markets, and new industry developments and standards
- Consistently demonstrate ability to successfully move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise. Quickly address internal and external escalating issues
- Work well with and demonstrate respect for colleagues at all levels and consistently contribute to a positive work environment for the entire staff
- Develop relationships with vendors, contractors and other like-minded companies that support our projects
- Consistently meet internal and external deadlines
- Carefully review and assist in the negotiating of customer contracts to minimize organizational risks around scope, schedule, budget, and margin goals
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
- Promote an injury free work environment
- Promote a productive working atmosphere, and champion continuous improvement efforts
- Other duties as assigned
Your background includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent field of study
- Three (3) or more years of industry experience
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Business Energy Professional (BEP) preferred
- Knowledge of performance contracting, alternative financing, design-build construction, and delivery of MUSH market projects
- Proven track record of success and demonstrated leadership skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Executive-level presentation skills and ability to handle high-level client interactions
- Proficient with Salesforce CRM
- Outstanding interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiating skills
