McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational solutions, is looking for a Content Licensing Specialist (CLS).

The Content Licensing Specialist (CLS) is responsible for directing and overseeing research and licensing of third-party assets to be used within McGraw Hill products, working closely with their manager and others to make sure assets adhere to the McGraw Hill's rights strategy. CLS exercises judgment and makes decisions in alignment with company policies to determine appropriate actions in working with external vendors on projects. Collaborates with authors, editors, and project managers on all assigned programs to advise and confirm project execution on time and within budget and ensure accurate contract information and other data within permission management system.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Expert on all rights management requirements established by McGraw Hill in accordance with copyright laws and standards. Assess risk for all deliverables and problem-solve.
  • On specific products, direct the research and selection of assets, and clearance of rights for third party content for print and digital products. Provide guidance to external resource vendor for negotiation of licensing terms and rates with copyright holders, act as first escalation point for external resource vendor on non-standard contracts.
  • Collaborate with and coach authors, editors and other content developers on content planning. Provide feedback on content plans to minimize problems.
  • Work with external resource vendors, external photo researchers, stock houses, product developers and editors, designers, authors and in-house production staff in ensuring quality is met on all programs. Build alliances and relationships with internal teams, external vendor teams, external researchers and digital asset resources to ensure timely, cost-effective, assets of the highest quality for all programs. Review and monitor quality of work done by external team members
  • Work with internal and external teams to establish schedule and budgets and manage schedule and costs for all assigned work. Provide budget/spend reporting as needed.

What you need to be considered:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects
  • 1+ years' experience in project management and/or licensing
  • Must be able to think strategically, negotiate, and Project Manage effectively
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective networking and negotiation skills

The pay range for this position is between $41,225 - $55,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
