Front of House Staff

CTD Academic Summer Camp at Northwestern University

Front of House (FOH) staff serve as the first point of contact for all families, students and staff for the student residence halls. From the front desk of their assigned building, FOH staff provide information, answer the phone, and facilitate communication between the academic and residential offices. FOH staff act as role models for students by upholding the CTD Honor Code. FOH staff complete other duties as reasonably assigned by Residential Director and Program Coordinator staff.

Employment Dates and Compensation

  • Training: June 24 & June 25, 2026
  • Full-time work: June 24 - August 7, 2026 (First workday with students: June 28)
  • Hours: TBD, Sunday - Friday;
  • Compensation: $17.25 per hour; 37.5 hours per week ma

Qualifications

  • Rising high school senior required; current or past enrollment in an undergraduate degree program preferred.
  • Experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
  • Customer/client service experience required.
  • A demonstrated interest in the academic, social, and emotional growth of students is required.
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to teamwork, professional, positive and flexible attitude required.
  • Must be able to traverse distances of at least one mile with or without accommodation.
  • Must be able to lift and/or maneuver at least 40lbs.

General Responsibilities

  • Learn, uphold, and implement CTD policies and procedures, including the CTD Honor Code.
  • Maintain CTD's standard of supervision at all times.
  • Daily maintenance of all front desk operations, including; answering the duty phone handling incoming messages; signing/in/out all visitors; greeting all clients who enter the building; positive communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support student engagement in afternoon activities, including student supervision at the desk.
  • Promote community among students and staff that is inclusive, positive, safe, and fun.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians using best practices in customer service.
  • Clearly and expediently communicate student needs with appropriate CTD support staff.
  • Assume program-related responsibilities as reasonably requested by CTD directors and administrators.
