Please see https://www.mcleanhospital.org/research The McLean Fernside Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Addiction Psychology will provide training in the psychological treatment of individuals with moderate-to-severe substance use disorders (SUDs), many of whom have co-occurring psychiatric conditions. Clinical casework will be balanced with ample supervision. Post-doctoral fellows will master techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Relapse Prevention, Motivational Interviewing, and Integrated Group Therapy for the treatment of co-occurring SUDs and mood disorders. Fellows will also be trained to adapt other evidence-based therapies, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, to our patient population. Clinical experiences include group and individual psychotherapy, family work and case management. Qualified candidates will be eligible for academic appointment as Clinical Fellow in Psychology at Harvard Medical School. McLean Fernside (https://www.mcleanhospital.org/treatment/fernside) is a 30-day, residential program within the McLean Hospital Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse. The treatment program is housed in a former bed-and-breakfast in the quaint town of Princeton, Massachusetts. The region features charming New England town living with excellent schools and recreational opportunities along with the nearby cultural and entertainment offerings of Boston and Worcester. WORKING CONDITIONS: Clinical work will be performed in person at McLean Fernside. One day per week can generally be reserved for elective experiences, which may include off-site clinical rotations, structured educational pursuits, or research activities based on the applicant's interests and background.
