Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day upkeep of our Huntsville offices. This role supervises janitorial and facilities support staff, manages office consumables, and handles hands-on building maintenance. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with a mix of office, engineering, and production activity. What You'll Do
- Lead and schedule janitorial staff and facilities support personnel.
- Maintain inventory and replenishment of all office and restroom consumables (soap, paper products, cleaning supplies, coffee supplies, etc.)
- Perform daily building walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs.
- Complete basic facilities repairs including lighting, minor plumbing, door hardware, furniture, and equipment.
- Coordinate and supervise onsite work from vendors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, janitorial, waste services, pest control, grounds, etc.)
- Assist with space resets, office moves, conference room setups, and furniture installations.
- Support compliance with OSHA, fire code, life safety, and local AHJ requirements.
- Document and track maintenance requests, preventive maintenance schedules, and service records.
- Serve as the on-call responder for after-hours and weekend facility emergencies, and report to the site when needed.
- Assist with emergency preparation tasks, including equipment checks and drill readiness.
- Support manufacturing and engineering teams by responding to facility-related needs that affect production uptime.
- Partner cross-functionally with IT, Security, HR, and Operations teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5-7 years experience in facilities, building maintenance, or related trades.
- Experience supervising janitorial teams or hourly staff.
- Ability to perform hands-on repair and maintenance tasks.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in mechanical spaces.
- Reliable and willing to serve in an on-call rotation for emergencies.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to facility needs.
Preferred
- Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with OSHA and basic facility safety requirements.
- Maintenance or facilities-related certifications.
Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb ladders, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift / carry up to 50 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment as well as hand tools and basic power tools. Must be physically capable of inspecting mechanical rooms, rooftops, ceilings, and production areas.
Work Environment This position typically operates in a standard office and manufacturing environment. This role requires use of standard office equipment and involves exposure to machinery, electrical equipment, ladders, tools, and controlled hazardous materials common to manufacturing operations. Occasional travel to supplier facilities or test sites may be required. This position may have exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and non-climate-controlled environments. May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This is a fast-paced work environment requiring cross-department collaboration with independent and team-based responsibilities. Standard work hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime as operational needs demand.
