POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for weekly financial forecasts, long range projections and interaction with other FedEx Enterprise departments regarding their financial activity through oversight of financial analysts. Plan, organize, direct and control forecasting of the fiscal year financial condition of FedEx Freight. Communicate forecasts and analyses of results to executive management and the board of directors so as to achieve superior financial returns to shareholders. Provide financial analysis support for external reporting/investor relations, competitive strategy, operations analysis, and other special projects. Prepare the annual corporate business plan and annual long range outlook with long-term EPS growth targets and to review capital authorization requests.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Select, train, develop and motivate a staff of analysts/advisors

Provide data and interpretation of financial results, including statistical and variance analysis and communicate to all levels of management via oral and/or written presentations

Participate in monthly financial close and review meetings

Manage information for weekly, monthly and annual revenue forecasts as it relates to the current fiscal year and/or future years

Manage the development of the annual business plan and long range outlook for FedEx Freight Inc., Canada, and Mexico.

Provide financial planning, analysis and decision-support insight to business partners throughout the organization.

Lead and participate in cross-functional process improvement and problem solving teams.

Continuously improve and construct new capabilities around performance metric analysis

Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting or business plus five (5) years' experience in financial analysis, financial planning, business consulting, project management, accounting or operations analysis/management
  • Extensive financial analysis skills including variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and be able to perform at both a strategic and functional level and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience in LTL transportation preferred
  • Proven leadership ability; comfortable working with all levels within the company
  • Proven record of working jointly with others to produce results
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or financial support systems
  • Strong communications skills to include presentation abilities

Additional Details: This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR. You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight location several times per week.
