Contract Closeout Specialist

Position Overview

NRI Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Contract Closeout Specialist to support acquisition and contract administration activities. This role focuses on performing closeouts for various contract types, ensuring documentation accuracy, and supporting financial and administrative compliance for the department.

This is a fully onsite position, Monday through Friday, working directly with the closeout team, program staff, CORs, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The position may evolve into a long-term administrative role within the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform contract closeout activities for a range of contract types in accordance with agency policies and FAR guidelines.
• Review, interpret, and analyze contract documents, invoices, and supporting data to ensure completeness and compliance.
• Audit contract files to verify accuracy, proper documentation, and readiness for closeout.
• Prepare and assemble closeout packages, letters, memorandums, and other administrative forms.
• Coordinate with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), vendors, team leads, and program offices to obtain required concurrences and signatures.
• Track closeout progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to closeout statistics and department goals.
• Verify that all deliverables, reports, and contractual requirements have been received and accepted.
• Recommend the de-obligation of excess funds in accordance with agency procedures.
• Prepare Contract Completion Statements and ensure proper disposition of contract files.
• Provide administrative and analytical support during meetings, including ad hoc reporting on closeout status and metrics.
• Promote a collaborative, professional team environment and engage positively with internal and external stakeholders.
