Job Summary

As a Line Cook, you are the engine of our kitchen. You will execute a wide variety of cooking methods, manage portion control, and master artistic garnishing under the mentorship of our Executive Chef, Managing Chef, and Sous Chefs. Your mission: maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation for our guests.

Essential Responsibilities



  • Culinary Excellence: Prepare and produce menu items in a timely manner, ensuring quality, taste, and appearance meet HSB Resort luxury standards.
  • Kitchen Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation. Manage the daily upkeep of walk-in coolers and storage areas.
  • Inventory & Rotation: Control food usage and execute proper rotation (FIFO) to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Team Collaboration: Complete all shift prep to set the next team up for success. Support other departments as needed to ensure seamless resort operations.
  • Quality Control: Proactively alert leadership to any food quality issues and ensure buffet/plated presentations are flawless.


Qualifications



  • Experience: 1-3 years of professional culinary experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; Technical/Culinary training is a major plus.
  • Certifications: Valid Food Handler Certification required (TABC certification where applicable).
  • Compliance: Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Skills: Basic oral/written communication skills and the ability to follow complex recipes and instructions.
  • Physical: Must be able to wear slip-resistant, oil-resistant, closed-toe footwear and maintain professional uniform standards.
