Security Officer - Access Control Specialist

As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Chicago Heights, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a strong and visible presence. You will interact with visitors and employees, verifying credentials, handling access requests, and delivering outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or, when appropriate, emergency response activities at the chemical and petrochemical location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for chemical and petrochemical environments.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify potential issues.
• Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or unusual conditions to the appropriate personnel.
• Operate access control systems and maintain visitor logs as required by site-specific policies.
• Collaborate with site personnel and first responders as needed during emergency situations.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid Guard Card or security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
