Job Description




As a Security Professional - Government Patrol Rounds Part-Time in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As an unarmed patrol professional with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas at a prominent government location, helping to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for all visitors and personnel. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by performing security-related procedures, adhering to site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when necessary.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and along the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Observe and report any unusual activities or security-related concerns in and around the property.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and patrols as required by site protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal management.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification, and/or inspecting credentials as required by site policies.
  • Support emergency response efforts and/or evacuation procedures in accordance with established protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possession of a Transportation Worker Identification Credential TWIC issued by the Transportation Security Administration TSA is required.
  • A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
