Senior Photonic Product Engineer

Nokia is searching for a qualified candidate to work in a Product Engineering role that spans the Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC), High Speed Mixed-Signal ASICs, TROSA packages, and interfaces with Pluggable Modules within Subsystem's Optical Modules Group (OMG). As the Product Engineer working in a vertically integrated organization, there will be opportunity to help products achieve industry leading performance through engineering optimization end-to-end. Nokia will need to rapidly ramp the production volume of its latest 800G pluggable line and will look to this candidate to help drive these optimizations and improvements. The position provides a rich learning environment that is highly cross-functional with hardware design, test, firmware/controls, reliability, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate has strong Optical Engineering background, excels at data analysis, and enjoys a multi-disciplinary environment working to drive product solutions into place. The position is based in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

* Ensure that photonic integrated circuit performance requirements are defined and met up to the sub-system level (pluggable modules)
* Interact with hardware design, test, controls, reliability, and manufacturing to define calibration methods and performance screens
* Perform statistical data analysis on large data sets to characterize and improve the product
* Support quality analysis and evaluation of development, proto, and pilot units
* Drive improvements in product quality during pilot ramp and identify opportunities to increase product volumes and reduce costs.

* M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (electronics, electro-optics), Materials Science, Photonics, or Physics (optics, semiconductors)
* Experience with coherent optical system test and measurement methods and debug is desirable.
* Aptitude to work with a large body of data, perform statistical analysis, and comfortable presenting data and proposals to technical audiences
* Team oriented with ability to work cross-functionally
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
