The Kidacki Lab in the Department of Dermatology, University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a highly motivated Post-Baccalaureate Research Intern to join our translational research program focused on Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Our group integrates computational biology and experimental organoid models to uncover mechanisms of disease and identify new therapeutic strategies in Hidradenitis Suppurativa. This position offers a unique opportunity for a recent graduate interested in combining coding and data analysis with hands-on wet lab training. The successful candidate will work with sequencing and spatial transcriptomics datasets, develop skills in R-based data analysis, and gain experience with cell culture, and organoid systems. Prior wet lab experience is not required-comprehensive training will be provided. Key Responsibilities * Assist with analysis transcriptomic and imaging datasets (R). * Support laboratory experiments involving cell culture, organoid assays. * Maintain accurate experimental records and contribute to data management. * Participate in regular lab meetings and interdisciplinary project discussions. Some experience with R or another programming language for data analysis (or willing to start needed coursework). Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills. Reliable, self-motivated, and eager to learn new wet lab techniques. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Background or coursework in molecular biology, genomics, or immunology. Experience handling large datasets (RNA-seq, spatial, or imaging data). Interest in pursuing graduate or professional training in biomedical science or medicine. |
