Polysomnography Tech

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assist in the performance of sleep studies and the collection of data used for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Under the supervision of registered polysomnographic technologists or sleep medicine professionals, help prepare patients, set up monitoring equipment, and monitor patients during sleep studies.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• AASM-A STEP program completion required.

• Must obtain Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist - Sleep Disorders Specialist (RRT-SDS) or Certified Respiratory Therapist - Sleep Disorders Specialist (CRT-SDS) within 6 months.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

• At least six months of hands-on experience in sleep lab combined with additional relevant training; or experience as respiratory therapist, EEG Tech, or other healthcare professional with training/education in sleep disorders.

• CPSGT credential preferred.

• Additional coursework of training in healthcare or a related field preferred.
