We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Suter's Pulmonary Optical Imaging Laboratory at the Massachusetts General Hospital within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. A Harvard Medical School appointment will be at the postdoctoral rank. The successful candidate will work within a highly collaborative research environment focused on the development and use of optical diagnostics for studying the lungs. The position will involve the use of novel optical imaging systems including polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography to assess lung disease. Candidates will be required to conduct preclinical and clinical studies.

Required:

  • A doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.

  • Experience with optics and optical systems.

The ideal candidate possesses experience or skills related to:

  • Biomedical imaging

  • Image Analysis

  • Data Processing & Analysis

  • Programming (Matlab, C/C++, Python)

  • Optical fiber

  • Scientific paper writing

The candidate should also be:

  • Self-motivated

  • Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Willing and eager to learn new skills and explore novel ideas

The Suter Lab is a well-funded but smaller lab, and candidates who are both versatile and motivated will find significant opportunity for growth and increased responsibility.
