Payroll Process Improvement Consultant

We are seeking a highly experienced Payroll Process Improvement Consultant to support a short-term project focused on optimizing payroll workflows and ADP system configuration. This role will audit current practices, identify improvement opportunities, and help train internal staff on updated processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in ADP payroll systems, union payroll structures, and process documentation.

Key Responsibilities

* Audit and assess current payroll workflows, data entry practices, and ADP system setup.

* Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to job codes, earnings files, and data flow.

* Evaluate union payroll complexities, including multiple job codes, pay differentials, and shift premiums.

* Collaborate with HR and Payroll teams to propose a simplified, scalable payroll model.

* Document current-state processes and develop future-state recommendations.

* Assist in configuring ADP system updates aligned with process improvements.

* Train payroll and HR staff on new workflows, system changes, and best practices.

* Provide hands-on support during implementation and testing phases.

Qualifications

* Proven experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll platforms.

* Strong understanding of union payroll structures and collective bargaining agreements.

* Demonstrated success in payroll process improvement or system optimization projects.

* Excellent documentation and training skills.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

* 5+ years in payroll operations or consulting.

* Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.

* Familiarity with multi-site or multi-union payroll setups.

Additional Information

This is a temporary consulting role expected to last approximately 1-3 months. Candidates must be available to work onsite in Sauget, Illinois, and support hands-on training and implementation activities.
