KPMG is currently seeking a Manager M&A Due Diligence & Execution M&A Due Diligence & Execution to join our KPMG Strategy practice.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead buy-side and sell-side due diligence engagements, including actuarial reserve reviews, capital adequacy assessments, and distribution economics
  • Assess target operating models across underwriting, claims, policy administration, and MGA relationships to identify synergies and risks
  • Develop integration and separation strategies that address regulatory constraints (e.g., state-level DOI approvals), legacy system dependencies, and producer network impacts
  • Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and technology teams to deliver comprehensive transaction support
  • Advise on MGA acquisition strategies, including evaluation of delegated authority, commission structures, and underwriting performance
  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives across carriers, MGAs, and insurtechs
  • Contribute to thought leadership on insurance M&A trends, such as run-off transactions, embedded insurance, and vertical integration of distribution

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of five years external consulting experience in a client-facing strategy discipline at a Big 4 firm, major strategy firm, or a boutique strategy firm, with a focus on due diligence, operational due diligence, and performance improvement; additional relevant work experience, ideally within M&A Operations for a private equity or Fortune 100 firm is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Business Administration, Engineering, or other related field; Masters degree in Business Administration from an accredited college/university is preferred
  • Experience helping Financial Services clients conduct thorough analysis of potential acquisition targets, including assessing and executing operational due diligence and performance improvements; solid experience in project/program management, strategic cost management, operational improvement, customer profitability, discount optimization, organizational restructuring, change management and/or corporate turnarounds
  • Strong business acumen with deep analytical/problem solving skills and the ability to understand how business model decisions impact operating model design/execution across operations, technology, and organizational design
  • Ability and willingness to travel as necessary
