Description

The MIG Welder and Fabricator will weld together thick steel plates byway of pulse welding and also fabricate steel parts to meet the design specs according to the blueprints. This position will also utilize the overhead crane along with the sit down and stand-up forklift. There will be times when operation of the shot blast machine is required for paint prep.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Pass AWS D1.1: 2020 Welder Test.
  • Must know metric measurement
  • Understand and perform weld machine setup.
  • Understand and read blueprints.
  • Perform all Essential Functions of a Heavy Plate Structural Welder
  • Weld Press Brake Side plate, Lower Beams, and upper frames together to produce a frame ready for paint.
  • Train other employees on the tasks of a "Welding Apprentice."
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace.
  • Keep Management informed of status, issues, etc.
  • Manages Time and Resources.
  • Comply with established workplace policies.
  • Wear all required PPE.
  • Employees are to speak only English during an emergency and while performing job duties where there is potential for an emergency. The rule does not apply to casual conversations between employees when they are not performing a job duty.
  • Non-field related positions require in-person work up to 5 days a week at the assigned facility.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:



  • Lead Person
  • Welding Supervisor
  • Production Manager


SUBORDINATE STAFF:



  • None


KNOWLEDGE:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working in manufacturing and production preferred.
  • Experience driving a forklift and using measuring tools preferred.
  • ISO and SAP experience is a PLUS
  • Previous Lead Person experience is a PLUS


SKILLS:



  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Mathematical skills including tape measure down to the 1/32
  • Reasoning and Problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to design custom reports as requested.


WORK SCHEDULE:



  • Monday - Thursday
  • 3:00PM - 1:45PM


PAY RANGE:



  • $20.00-$26.00/HR


TRAVEL:



  • Minimal to no travel required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

LIFTING: Up to 50 pounds unassisted

STANDING AND WALKING: Daily on cement flooring
