The Opportunity:

A Sr. Instrumentation/Calibration Technician's responsibilities include maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing production and test equipment. This includes performing PMs and inspections on a variety of automated and semi-automated equipment, and machine assembly/disassembly. They provide their maintenance team with subject matter and engineering expertise for troubleshooting and resolution of equipment failures/malfunctions. Develops and drives continuous improvement projects focused on maximizing asset availability and reduction of overall equipment downtime.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure safe and healthy operations, promptly address and report hazards or incidents, maintain audit readiness (e.g., OSHA, FDA), and adhere to compliance training and quality objectives.

  • Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment; perform preventive maintenance, equipment modifications, and ensure machine functionality for maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in process improvements using root cause analysis and lean tools, collect and analyze performance metrics, and implement strategies to enhance operations while ensuring adherence to 6S and standard work principles.

  • Team Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams on equipment installations, modifications, and process improvements; mentor and onboard new staff, provide expertise, and promote collaboration across shifts.

  • Documentation and Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory, assist with NCR investigations and corrective actions, monitor and update documents, and adhere to quality systems for operational accuracy and compliance.

Who You Are:

  • You possess a High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years experience demonstrating proficiency in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic, electrical, or mechanical devices.

  • You have experience with automated/semi-automated manufacturing equipment in a regulated environment.

  • You possess experience with validated software systems used to maintain quality, inventory, and processes.

  • You are familiarized with sensors, motors, cylinders, etc., and with use of hand tools and test equipment and have experience in diagnosing and correcting problems on complex machinery

Preferred qualifications:

  • You possess an Associates Degree in STEM field.

  • You are familiarized with Google office productivity suite (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.)

  • You have experience with SAP

Additional requirements:

  • Required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, bend, crouch for a combined 4 or more hours per day.

  • Must be able to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and machinery; to work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding; to manipulate heavy equipment, tools and supplies and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs; to concurrently manipulate multiple controls and machinery; to work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces, and to wear and work in personnel protective equipment.

  • This is an essential position supporting the organizational goals requiring attendance on weekends, holidays, and during emergency or exceptional conditions.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based in Arizona is $63,000-$117,000 for the Senior Automation Technician level. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
