About the Position

We seek a Radiology Technician who is enthusiastic about serving their community to join our Department of Correctional Health Services. Make a difference in patients' lives within Maricopa County's correctional facilities by providing medically necessary, evidence-based integrated health care to patients going through the judicial system.

You will work in diagnostic radiology and operate with special procedure equipment. You will also create CDs of digital images, preserve the operatable performance of digital x-ray equipment, and maintain the cleanliness of radiology equipment and work areas.

We Require

  • Two years of radiology experience

  • Completion of a Radiology or Radiologic Technologist training program

  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Radiologic Technologist (CRT)

  • High School diploma or GED

We Also Value

  • Ultrasound certification

Job Contributions

  • Administers general diagnostic radiographs

  • Determines the diagnostic quality of completed radiographs

  • Maintains appropriate documentation and records

  • Helps coordinate the completion of radiographs for specialty clinics

  • Communicates x-ray concerns to the provider or Nurse Manager

  • Restocks radiographic supplies and monitors monthly expenses

  • Coordinates equipment services and repairs

  • Assists with drafting and updating the Radiology Department Policies and Procedures

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed inside a jail and requires standing, walking, and bending for extended periods of time throughout the work shift

  • Position requires accurately handling a high volume of work, communicating with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasks

  • Position includes day or night shift work, which may include weekends and holidays

  • Travel or floating to various clinical locations is required within a 5-mile radius

  • Must be able to respond to emergencies

  • Must maintain CPR certification and get on the floor to perform CPR/chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney

  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail access
