Job Description

The Director of Procurement leads the strategic direction and execution of global commodity strategies across direct and/or indirect categories. This role is responsible for optimizing global supply base performance, driving cost efficiencies, mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. The Director will lead a team of commodity managers across regions and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver sustainable value and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global commodity strategies that align with business goals and market dynamics.
  • Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management for key commodities.
  • Drive global sourcing initiatives to achieve cost savings, quality improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor global market trends, supply chain risks, and geopolitical factors impacting commodity pricing and availability.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance, and regional procurement teams to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Establish and track KPIs, cost models, and performance metrics across commodities.
  • Integrate analytics, automation, and procurement technologies to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Champion sustainability, diversity, and compliance initiatives within the supply base.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global commodity management team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or global procurement.
  • Proven leadership experience managing global teams and complex supplier networks.
  • Deep understanding of commodity markets, cost drivers, and global sourcing strategies.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior leadership across global business units.
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or technology sectors.
  • Experience with ERP and procurement platforms (e.g., Oracle).
  • Expertise in managing both direct and indirect spend categories.
  • Familiarity with ESG, supplier diversity, and digital procurement transformation.
  • English required.
  • Spanish is desired.
  • Travel, both domestic and international, will be required up to 20%
