The IT Product Lead - M365, will lead a portfolio of digital products, with a primary focus on Microsoft 365-especially Exchange Online-critical to Exelixis's success and ambition to launch innovative medicines for patients. This role is pivotal in driving the strategy, development, and operational excellence of our Microsoft 365 platform ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business objectives and a strong focus on user experience and value delivery. Operating within a product-centric model, the IT Product Lead will be responsible for defining product roadmaps, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and leading agile product teams to deliver innovative and impactful digital solutions that accelerate drug discovery, development, and commercialization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Strategy & Roadmap (Product-Centric Focus):
- Own Microsoft 365 as the primary digital product, with specific emphasis on Exchange Online, including vision, strategy, and roadmap execution.
- Conduct market research and technology assessments to support planning and identify areas for innovation within Microsoft 365 and Exchange.
- Drive evaluation and prioritization of Microsoft 365 product initiatives based on business impact, technical feasibility, and compliance considerations.
- Own the architecture and design of Microsoft 365 solutions, ensuring secure, scalable implementation of Exchange Online and related services.
Product Development & Delivery (Agile/Product Team Support):
- Lead product development activities for Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online through the lifecycle-from concept to launch and post-launch optimization-using Agile methodologies.
- Work closely with peer engineering, architecture, and QA teams to support timely delivery of high-quality Microsoft 365 applications.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to support delivery timelines and operational needs for Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online.
- Drive user experience improvements for Microsoft 365 products by incorporating feedback from usability testing and end user research.
Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between IT and business teams, helping to communicate technical concepts in business terms and vice versa across at least one functional area.
- Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to support alignment on product goals and priorities across at least one functional area.
- Facilitate communication across product, business, and IT teams to support effective execution and issue resolution.
Operational Excellence, Quality & Compliance:
- Support efforts to maintain the stability, performance, and security of Microsoft 365 applications, especially Exchange Online, in partnership with IT operations and infrastructure teams.
- Assist in managing relationships with third-party vendors and software providers relevant to Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online.
- Ensure Microsoft 365 product releases and processes comply with applicable regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Lead quality assurance activities to ensure Microsoft 365 deliverables meet expectations.
- Implement and maintain robust data management practices to protect sensitive information and ensure accuracy and reliability within Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online.
- Monitor Microsoft 365 product performance metrics and KPIs to support continuous improvement efforts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- No supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 7 years of related experience; or
- Master's degree in mathematics or statistics or engineering and 5 years of related experience.
- PhD degree in a related discipline and 4 years of related experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience/The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting Enterprise IT enabling business functions, with a focus on Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online.
- Minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience in IT, focused on digital applications or product management within the life science or pharmaceutical industry, including Microsoft 365 platforms.
- Proven experience in leading Microsoft 365 product development teams in an agile/product-centric operating model.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, especially Exchange Online, and their role in supporting pharmaceutical operations.
- Demonstrated success in defining and delivering Microsoft 365 solutions that drive significant business value.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 technologies and platforms, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and compliance solutions.
- Experience with regulatory frameworks and compliance in a GxP environment.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Deep understanding of product management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and product lifecycle management.
- Solid technical acumen with the ability to understand complex IT architectures and development processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Occasional travel may be required to other company sites, conferences, or vendor locations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this positionis $144,500 - $204,500 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate's geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.
