The Regional Senior EH&S Manager leads the discipline of multi-media environmental compliance and related issues, advising/integrating Corporate environmental standards suitable for the businesses, working with sites on their sustainability metrics, and assisting in the oversight and management of contractors/consultants in the environmental space to minimize costs appropriately in both compliance and remediation actions across the Americas region comprising of Clean Air, Powertrain and Ignition manufacturing sites in the U.S./Canada, Mexico and Brazil. This role is accountable for driving the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs. This role partners with plant leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, integrate and foster a culture of safety and compliance in all environmental matters, and advance environmental initiatives aligned with company goals. The position requires significant experience in environmental management, a proactive leadership style, and the ability to influence at all levels.

The position may be based in Northville, Michigan and reports directly to the Executive Director, EHS of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Matrix-manage, influence, mentor, and develop a team of site-based EH&S Managers, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback in environmental matters.
• Oversee the deployment of environmental and sustainability policies, procedures, and initiatives across all assigned region plants.
• Serve as the primary environmental liaison with the Exec Director for regional leadership, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct site visits to assess compliance, identify risks, and support continuous improvement.
• Champion environmental programs (air, water, waste, sustainability), ensuring robust compliance and driving cost and non-compliance reduction initiatives.
• Provide skilled, experienced bench-strength, coaching and mentoring as appropriate for broader EHS staff and issues, including on safety issues as needed and as part of own development.
• Analyze EH&S metrics and incident trends, developing action plans to address gaps and share best practices.
• Lead regional audits, investigations, and root cause analyses for significant incidents or compliance issues.
• Collaborate with plant managers to build a culture of safety, accountability, and environmental stewardship.
• Partner with internal and external legal counsel as may be required on a variety of environmental issues.
• Represent the region with agencies in external regulatory matters and industry forums as needed.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to manufacturing sites across the region.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field.

Experience: 8+ years of progressive EH&S experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a multi-site or regional leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or professional certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.).
• Experience in the automotive or heavy manufacturing sector.
• Familiarity with union environments and change management.
