Position Summary: The Zone Supervisor is responsible for overseeing patient flow and coordinating clinical operations across all procedural and operating room areas. This includes conducting purposeful rounding and real-time assessments of admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure seamless transitions and effective teamwork. Serving as a "traffic controller" for staffing and resources, the Zone Supervisor manages daily operations by monitoring unit activity, evaluating staff performance, and ensuring high standards of care delivery. The role involves strategic staffing allocation, including scheduling, resource management, and maintaining an appropriate skill mix to meet patient care needs at all times. In addition to operational oversight, the Zone Supervisor supports frontline staff in task prioritization and workflow coordination, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. A strong foundation in current nursing practices, age-specific competencies, and departmental workflows is essential to guide decision-making and staff support. The Zone Supervisor is accountable for evaluating both staff and departmental performance, ensuring quality outcomes through regular rounding and report reviews, while aligning daily operations with patient care goals. Education Bachelor`s degree in Nursing required. National certification required within 1 year to complete. Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing). Experience A minimum of two years of experience in a related clinical setting is required, with prior nursing leadership or management experience preferred. In some settings, critical care experience may also be required to effectively manage the complexity of patient care and staffing needs. Skills
