Scope of Position

Under the direction of the Director, the Workforce Coordinator will lead the formulation of workforce strategies. This includes partnership initiation, project management, and strategy implementation of programs to build the healthcare career pipeline.

Position Summary

The Workforce Coordinator serves as an external consultant working with healthcare employers, school districts, vocational training programs, career technical education centers, colleges and universities in addition to serving as an internal partner to assist with program planning, environmental trend analyses, and development of the programs vision, strategic goals, and program priorities. Reviews proposals, works with leadership to seek external funding/grant opportunities, monitors contracts with institutions ensuring compliance is met, and engages with healthcare partners to achieve common pipeline development goals.

Promotes teamwork through mutual respect for co-workers, developing positive interpersonal relationships, and lending assistance as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to interact effectively with multiple populations. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for programming and events is also required. Ability to travel within and outside of Ohio required.

A bachelors degree in business, health, public administration, marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Six years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience with health care delivery, program development and management, workforce development, student recruitment, or community engagement required. Experience working in or with rural or Appalachian communities is preferred.

Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects. Ability to learn new systems software. Independent and self-motivated. Project management experience required.

On-going: Attends professional continuing education to remain up to date on best practices and technological

innovations in workforce strategies and in rural and Appalachian health.
