Join the Azure Core Compute team and help shape the next generation of cloud solutions that enable businesses to scale, collaborate, and succeed.As a Senior Software Engineer for Azure Compute Node Services, you will design, develop, and operate the compute platform that supports virtual machines, containers, and bare metal servers. Our team focuses on evolving the Azure host, integrating hardware acceleration, and implementing strategies to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency. You will work closely with engineers across Azure to deliver features that run at massive scale, ensuring high availability and optimal performance for diverse workloads.This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale distributed systems and cutting-edge cloud technologies while contributing to solutions that impact millions of users worldwide. ResponsibilitiesEngage in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.Work with appropriate stakeholders to conceptualize high-level design for scenarios and features.Partner with stake holders (e.g. Project Managers) to come up with project execution plans.Lead in identifying dependencies, bringing clarity to complex problems and propose efficient solutions.Collaborate with various stake holders to ensure seamless operation and scalability of our services.Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues.Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring our services for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, and recommend actions to restore services by following the DRI playbook.Participate in code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and adhere to best practices in software development. Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks, contributing to the evolution of our infrastructure. | |
