Renewable Energy Manager

This position will have full P&L responsibility for AES Indiana's owned and/or operated Solar, Wind and Battery Energy Storage Facilities. Responsibilities include leading the operations and maintenance teams, administering the applicable contracts, coordinating, and communicating with internal and external customers, evaluation and control of the financial performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws.
  • Understands and complies with contractual requirements, including warranties. Insists on performance by all counterparties including AES entities. Establishes and maintains clear lines of communication with all necessary stakeholders. Ensures contract key dates are anticipated and acted upon timely.
  • Leads, supervises, and provides resources for all personnel at the facilities. Maintains a positive workplace culture that follows our shared values and takes pride in safety. Develops leaders and encourages training and advancement of employees.
  • Constantly monitors, evaluates, and reports on the status, productivity, and overall performance of the facilities. Identifies potential performance gains and directs action to achieve optimum performance.
  • Monitors and analyzes the facilities' financial records. Develops an annual budget for the facilities and special projects. Ensures compliance with the Company's approved budget.
  • Reports on operating and financial data and other facilities activities as required by Company executive management, customers, or contractual obligations.
  • Leads the ongoing development and improvement of financial and operating reporting systems.
  • Engages and manages contractors as necessary to efficiently operate and maintain the facilities. Insists on adherence to Company performance standards.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Financial background analyzing financial statements, contracts, etc.
  • Ability to understand the technical issues related to the performance of the wind projects and to make the appropriate operations and maintenance decisions. Integrating these decisions into contract administration while interacting with counterparties.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, with advanced proficiency in Excel. Ability to formulate reports that efficiently communicate information needed to best manage the facilities and enable executive management of the overall wind business.

FUNDAMENTAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read, write, interpret, and analyze business correspondence, contracts, financial and statistical data, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions appropriately from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in management, preferably in electrical utilities area, or 5 years management experience with a degree in engineering or management with related experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering and coursework in finance, strategic management, and people management is desirable.
