Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrol Driver in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming atmosphere within a busy retail environment. You will conduct regular patrols throughout the location, remaining visible to provide reassurance to patrons and staff. This role is both armed and driving, requiring you to respond promptly to incidents while upholding our commitment to customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and by responding appropriately to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols, both inside the location and along the perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible presence.
  • Monitor the premises for any unusual activity or potential threats, reporting findings according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Collaborate with location staff and local law enforcement as necessary in security-related situations.
  • Complete all required reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to evolving situations while maintaining professionalism at all times while on duty.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
