Who We Are

The Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS) offers five Master of Science programs, six PhD programs, and four Professional Masters programs. The ICS Graduate Programs Office is a professional student services office aimed at providing high quality counsel to students, faculty, and our programs. We are a collaborative team of experienced student advisors. Our team rises to the challenges and dynamics of working with a diverse, goal oriented graduate population who possess a strong desire to make the most of their experience at ICS and UCI. If you'd like to use your student services skills while working on recruitment events, admissions, orientation activities, fellowships, documentation management, degree certification, budget management, calendaring, international student policies, commencement, among much more, we're the place for you. Your Role on the Team Under the supervision of the Graduate Student Affairs Manager, the incumbent performs a full range of academic advising for the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences MS and PhD graduate student populations. Uses skills as a student services professional and provides the full range of student services including recruitment; admissions; Graduate Visit Day; orientation activities; fellowships and financial aid; program management; housing; TA Professional Development Program; documentation management; degree certification; academic process and probation; and commencement. Advises students and resolves student services-related issues on the full range of academic issues while interpreting University and School policies and procedures pertaining to degree requirements, satisfactory progress, deadlines, grade changes, and exceptions. Guidance on issues requiring in-depth knowledge of specialized programs is provided by offices specializing in those fields, e.g., the financial aid office, graduate division, or student learning center, OR by the chair / dean and faculty of the department / school. Works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other campus departments on issues related to the ICS graduate student population.
