Salary Range: $41,250-$65,000

Position Summary
Reporting to the Coordinator of Technical Services, the Digital Associate Archivist is responsible for the management and preservation of digital records from the ingestion of newborn digital collections to delivery. Serves as department lead on assessment-related activities and liaises with the coordinators of public and technical services, gathering and analyzing statistics for reporting purposes. Processes, preserves, and creates finding aids, cataloging records, and other access tools, with assistance from student workers. Works with the director on collection development including accessioning new acquisitions. Provides advanced reference and research services to a range of user communities, including university students, faculty, and staff. Conducts class instruction sessions in university classes, surrounding schools, and other groups. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Details
*This position is 100% ONSITE.
*This position requires the following background checks: Handle Purchasing Cards, Cash, Checks, Credit Cards, or manage financial transactions for the University and, Access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) as defined by Information Technology Systems (ITS) Data Classification.

Required Education and Experience
*MA or MLS or equivalent, with course work in archival theory and methodology.
*Three years of archival experience.
*Two years of archival reference and research experience.
*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience
*A concentration in history desired.
*Certified Archivist and Digital Archives Specialist.

Required Skills and Abilities
*Demonstrated knowledge of archival organization and descriptive standards (such as MARC, RDA, DACS, Dublin Core, EAD, LCSH, AAT); and collection management and digital content management systems (such as ArchivesSpace and CONTENTdm).
*Knowledge of digital forensics and preservation tools (such as BitCurator) and standards and software used to capture, manage, and deliver born-digital records. Familiarity with OAIS and preservation management systems such as Archivematica, Preservica, or Fedora.
*Familiarity with scripting languages such as python or javascript along with backend APIs to speed processing of collections.
*Knowledge of systems and software needed to process archives and manuscript collections, create digital finding aids, and digitize and make collections accessible digitally.
*Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with archival arrangement and processing techniques for archives, manuscript and audio/visual collections.
