Description
Summary / Position Purpose: The Sales Operations Analyst supports the sales organization by providing actionable insights, data analysis, and process improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and growth. This role plays a key part in optimizing sales performance through data-driven decision-making, forecasting, and operational support across our manufacturing and electronic assembly divisions. Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities: Sales Performance & Reporting
- Develop, maintain, and automate sales reports and dashboards to track KPIs such as bookings, revenue, pipeline health, customer trends, and sales rep performance.
- Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement in forecasting accuracy, territory coverage, and pricing strategies.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to sales leadership, finance, and operations teams.
Data Management & CRM Optimization
- Manage and maintain accurate sales data within CRM (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent) ensuring data integrity across accounts, contacts, and opportunities.
- Partner with IT and sales teams to optimize CRM functionality, automate workflows, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Conduct regular audits and implement data governance best practices.
Forecasting & Planning
- Support monthly and quarterly sales forecasting through data analysis, trend identification, and collaboration with account managers.
- Partner with finance and production planning teams to align sales forecasts with manufacturing capacity and inventory levels.
- Evaluate product mix, demand variability, and customer order patterns to assist in operational planning.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance sales productivity, order accuracy, and quote-to-cash efficiency.
- Support standardization of pricing models, discount structures, and quoting tools.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and customer service to ensure seamless end-to-end operations.
Strategic Support
- Assist leadership in territory alignment, goal setting, and incentive compensation analysis.
- Prepare business reviews and presentations for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Support new product launches with sales data insights, pricing analysis, and performance tracking.
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Business Analysis, or related role - preferably within manufacturing, electronics distribution, or electronic assembly industries.
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems (such as Salesforce, SAP, NetSuite, or Dynamics 365).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with advanced Excel and/or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Proven ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with manufacturing sales cycles, BOM pricing, lead times, and production planning concepts preferred.
