uada.edu Summary of Job Duties:The Learning and Development Manager is an integral part of the Human Resources Team. This position is critical in ensuring that training programs are aligned with the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture's strategic plan and core values, enhancing employee development, and fostering a positive work environment. This position will identify employee training needs, research, design, and deliver training to employees on various topics, including, but not limited to: Workday Learning, LinkedIn Learning, Employee Engagement, Employment Law, Supervisory Training, and New Employee Orientation. This position will partner and work collaboratively with HR team members, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of effective employee training.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor'sdegreefrom an accredited institution of higher education plus three years of related experience.

  • Technical proficiency in web-based educational programs and systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications for course development support, planning, data management, analysis, and reporting.

  • Experience managing and administering a learning management system and utilizing data for the preparation of management reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Threeor more years of experience in instructional design, employee training and development, or a related role. Prior experience in an education setting is preferred.

  • Proficiency in instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.), adult learning theory, and curriculum development preferred.

  • Experience in providing training for work-related software or an ERP System (such as Workday).

  • At least two years' experience using creative software (Adobe, TechSmith, Articulate, etc.) and virtual training platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.) preferred.

  • Design experience using WYSIWYG software (WordPress, Weebly, Wix, SharePoint, Squarespace, etc.).

  • Certification in instructional design or a related field (e.g., CPTD, ATD, or similar certifications).

  • Experience with data analysis to assess training effectiveness and outcomes.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

  • Ability to build strong internal partnerships

  • Self-motivated with a high degree of creativity, initiative, and accountability

  • Ability to convert training documents into accessible PDF or HTML formats using accessibility standards

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to produce digital learning materials

  • Ability to exercise and practice a high degree of discretion and to maintain confidential information

  • Excellent proofreading skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles

  • Knowledge of Visual Literacy

  • Web design skills

  • Ability to travel as needed

Job Duties:

Training Design, Delivery, and Development

  • Delivers training in a variety of modalities, including, but not limited to, e-Learning, instructor-led, blended, and Zoom training sessions.

  • Responsible for implementing learning strategies that align with UADA's strategic plans and core values.

  • Researches, creates, designs, and delivers soft skills training for individuals, teams, departments, and units.

  • Stay abreast of relevant federal and state laws, University of Arkansas Board and System policies, and UADA's policies.

Training Coordination and Collaboration

  • Collaborates and partners with the HR team, legal, compliance, CPED, Finance, and department leadership throughout the organization to ensure training meets the needs of various stakeholders and is up-to-date, accessible, and effectively communicated, which is essential for success in this position.

Employee Engagement

  • Fosters a culture of continuous learning that promotes employee engagement and professional growth. Responsible for creating new content to keep employees engaged.

  • Ensures a productive learning environment and positive learning experience.

Project Management

  • Responsible for the tracking and completion of mandatory Workday compliance training and creating completion reports, as needed.

  • Responsible for creating and updating the training schedule and course catalog.

  • Responsible for marketing of training through email, social media, etc.

  • Measures learning impact with clear metrics; reports outcomes and uses data to improve.

  • Stay abreast of learning trends, technologies, and recommend new tools and approaches.

Customer Service

  • Acts as the primary contact for learning queries and Workday Learning.

  • Assist customers in-person, by phone, email, or Zoom with timely and accurate responses to their inquiries.

  • Other duties as assigned.
