Summary Job Description: Patient Access Coordinator - CBC Oncology Center Full Time 40 weekly hours, day shift Patient Access Coordinators are imperative to the overall success of the entire revenue cycle. Most of the information submitted on a claim derives from an Access team member. They are primarily responsible for completing a thorough admissions process of all inpatients and outpatients. Exemplary customer service skills are crucial in this role, as the Patient Access Coordinator must ensure that accurate information is collected, that they are always sensitive to the confidentiality of this information, and that patients are aware of their rights as determined by HIPAA regulations and company policy. Extensive Insurance experience/training is vital to success within this role. Employee will maintain compliance with state and federal regulatory body requirements regarding access services. Verifying Insurance Eligibility, Compliance, Point of Service estimates and collections are part of their responsibility. Job Summary: Individual will have some specific job functions, but will be crossed trained to perform duties for other team members Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the functions of a Front Office Clerk's job duties 1. Greet patients in a positive and welcoming manner 2. Request patient to sign-in on registration sheet 3. Register patient in Mosaiq and Paragon 4. Print ID bracelet and place on each patient while verifying Date of Birth and patient name 5. Communicate with patient what they are scheduled for and where they need to go throughout the office during their appointment 6. Verify all demographics and insurance information and update when needed-scan into EMR 7. Verify Insurance Card and Drivers License scanned into computer while patient is at your work station. Collect yearly consent, Medicare co-ins form and MSP when needed. 8. New patients and new hospital returns must have all new patient forms signed and filled out prior to seeing physician. New Paragon accounts must be dropped to billing and consents signed 9. Collect co-payments when applicable 10. Drop Paragon accounts to billing when necessary for repeat patients 11. Assign a pager and queue patient to next location 12. Review Daily Master Schedule each day and mark patients that did not show for their appointments. Send No Show letters and document in Mosaiq. Copy and paste labs not done in Guidelines for their next scheduled appointment. Fill out no show form and forward to scheduling if patient needs called to reschedule. 13.
