The Role

GovExec is hiring an Associate for its growing Talent & Culture Team. As a member of this highly collaborative team, you will get to explore, firsthand, all facets of the Human Resources industry and gain invaluable experience working across multiple specialty areas of the HR practice.

Your primary function will be to provide departmental support across the team on fundamental tasks and special projects. As Associate, you will gain insight into areas including talent acquisition, benefits administration, talent management, and employee experience. This position reports directly to the Managing Director, Talent & Culture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage compliance projects across recruitment, onboarding, and benefits
  • Create and maintain training materials for staff use of HR technology and processes
  • Support the Talent & Culture team with special projects, such as new vendor research, recommendation, selection, and implementation
  • Manage team-related contracts and expenses
  • Perform invoice processing
  • Respond to and appropriately direct requests for the general HR email
  • Maintain personnel files across the organization
  • Assist with reporting and data analysis for the Talent & Culture leadership team
  • Assist with scheduling and assorted administrative tasks for the Talent & Culture leadership team
  • Partner closely with the Talent & Culture leadership team to understand upcoming team needs and priorities
  • Receive and handle confidential information, and maintain confidentiality of private and sensitive information

Potential growth opportunities

  • Ideate and own new team and company-wide initiatives
  • Act as first point of contact for basic staff inquiries
  • Assist in developing and implementing new processes and workflows across the team

Qualifications

  • Has 0-2 years of experience in human resources or other related functions and is interested in exploring a career in the space
  • Sees problems as exciting opportunities to create solutions and make improvements
  • Embodies a true service ethic; a willingness to support our employees with patience, kindness, and understanding
  • Is organized by nature with meticulous attention to detail and honed prioritization skills
  • Is an eager and quick learner
  • Is proactive, takes ownership, and is comfortable working independently
  • Possesses a strong working knowledge of all G-Suite products, with an emphasis on Sheets/Excel and Slides/Powerpoint. Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is a plus.

The compensation range for this role is $50,000 to $55,000 per year.
