The Outside Operator is responsible for all aspects of Acrylamide production as it pertains to the outside equipment, sampling, and other activities in the production area.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Safety, Efficiency, and Effectiveness of the Acrylamide Unit Operations.
  • Read, understand, and follow all pertinent operating procedures.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safety of assigned work areas as well as plant/site in general.
  • Understand and follow permit procedures i.e. confined space, hot work, and line break.
  • Identify, communicate, mitigate, and report all unsafe behaviors, unsafe conditions, and spills.
  • Know and understand the dangers/hazards of equipment and process chemicals.
  • Identify and understand properties and hazards of chemicals.
  • Able to record data and process information accurately and consistently.
  • Operate and troubleshoot equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Understand purpose and methods of all process checks.
  • Complete all process checks.
  • Troubleshoot process issues.
  • Ensure that all chemicals and materials are charged, mixed, and sampled correctly.
  • Safely load railcars, trucks, and containers on-time and as required.
  • Operate within process parameter limits and adjust processes parameters to ensure product quality.
  • Address and/or report process deviations.
  • Operate forklift and conduct forklift inspections as required.
  • May handle, move, inspect, and/or assist in the management of hazardous waste per the Facility Hazardous
  • Waste Management Program.
  • Assist with other outside positions as needed to increase overall process efficiency.
  • Any other task assigned by Supervision or Management.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required

EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years of relevant work experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated good stewardship skills (Environmental, Health, and Safety).
  • Strong process knowledge/experience (with highly hazardous processes preferred).
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shift and overtime, as needed and required.
  • Ability to multi-task, must be a quick learner and adapt to change.
  • Ability to wear respirator and SCBA.
