Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG), a leading management consulting firm, is seeking a Project Director for an upcoming opportunity to serve as the lead for the New York State Center for School Safety Technical Assistance Center (the Center). The Project Director will lead the statewide Center, operated under contract with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Office of Student Support Services. The Project Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the Center's statewide activities related to school safety, climate improvement, and the Dignity for All Students Act (Dignity Act). This includes managing staff, coordinating with NYSED, and ensuring timely delivery of all technical assistance, professional development, and reporting deliverables.

Location: Remote with preference given to candidates located in New York State or adjacent states
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight of all Center operations and deliverables in alignment with NYSED's objectives.
- Supervise and support Center staff, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure timely and high-quality services.
- Lead statewide technical assistance initiatives on school safety planning, emergency response, and implementation of Project SAVE (Safe Schools Against Violence in Education Act) and Dignity Act requirements.
- Oversee the design and delivery of professional development for school, district, and BOCES administrators and staff on issues such as bullying prevention, behavioral threat assessment, and social emotional learning.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, including NYSED staff, the Safe Schools Task Force, and local education agencies.
- Review and approve materials, templates, training content, and web-based resources for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure all activities are evidence-based, culturally responsive, and accessible to diverse school communities.
- Prepare quarterly and annual progress reports and lead evaluation of Center impact and outcomes.
- Serve as the primary liaison to NYSED and represent the Center at state-level meetings and events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Education, Human Services, Social Services, Psychology, or School/Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
- At least four (4) years of programmatic and/or administrative experience in a school or district setting leading initiatives related to school safety, climate improvement, or emergency planning, or providing technical assistance to schools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage statewide projects with multiple stakeholders and deliverables.
- Excellent written/oral communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with New York State school districts, BOCES, or state education agencies.
- Knowledge of Project SAVE, the Dignity Act, and New York's Education Law * 2801-a, 807, and Commissioner's Regulation *155.17.
- Familiarity with school climate measurement tools, behavioral threat assessment, and trauma-informed safety planning.
- Experience managing federal or state education contracts or technical assistance centers.
