Associate Chief for Ambulatory Cardiology Job Description

The University of California, San Francisco, Division of Cardiology, is seeking to hire an excellent candidate to serve as Associate Chief for Ambulatory Cardiology for a rapidly growing clinic and many sub-specialty clinics.

Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease, with a presence in ambulatory cardiology, and have the expertise to direct and work closely with administrative leadership to oversee the operations of our multi-faceted ambulatory services. Candidates should also have experience building and leading programs, or the potential to lead programs.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Cardiology Division Chief and work closely with the Director of Ambulatory Cardiology, Director of the Heart and Vascular Center, and with other Division, Departmental, and Health System leaders in developing and executing strategies for continued growth and operational efficiency of the cardiology ambulatory practices. The candidate will be an outstanding clinician (with a clinical effort as an outpatient cardiologist) who is either a nationally recognized or an up-and-coming clinical and academic leader in Cardiology. Applicants must hold MD (or equivalent degree), MD/PhD (or equivalent degree), or MD/MPH (or equivalent degree) degree(s) and be qualified for appointment at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate or the Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to continue the practices' growth and ensure that we provide world-class service to our patients in the Bay Area and beyond. Faculty recruit is expected to attend on the cardiology inpatient and consult services and to have an ambulatory practice. Faculty recruit may also perform duties as an attending physician in the echo lab.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 The minimum base salary range for this position is $114,100-$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
