About the Job

Summary: The Voytas Lab is seeking a Project Manager responsible for managing team efforts from project intake and business analysis to project completion. This position works with multiple teams, departments and colleges to translate the needs of the users to external stakeholders and vice versa.

Essential Functions:
40% Project Management
* Serve as project manager for projects with internal and external collaborators.
* Work with stakeholders to define and document project goals, budgets, outputs, tasks, and timelines
* Manage conflicts, issues, and changes to ensure that stakeholders and the implementation team remain in agreement on the solution scope.
* Compare monthly budget forecasts to actual expenditures; adjust spend plans to ensure alignment with grant requirements, institutional policies, and project objectives.
* Develop budget projections to support faculty and research staffing plans, including funding scenarios for new hires, postdoctoral appointments, and graduate student support.
* Evaluate long-term funding capacity and provide timely notice to academic and research personnel regarding changes in appointments, renewals, or potential funding shortfalls.
30% Knowledge Management and Communications
* Maintain or create internal and external-facing documentation for procedures and processes and outputs.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts to create figures and schematics for publication in journals, grant proposals, lectures and curriculum.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure knowledge is accurate and current.
30% Business Analysis and Process Improvement
* Identify workflow shortcomings and evaluate which solutions best meet business needs. Analyze proposed solutions for gaps or limitations and determine any necessary workarounds or modifications. Present recommended solutions to the Center Director or PI in advance of implementation.
* Map current and future business processes and align these with internal team strategies.
* Identify themes and evaluate patterns to make recommendations for process improvement.
* Participate in related Center activities and University professional groups and/or Communities of Practice to ensure the needs and interests of the College are represented.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
* BA/BS degree plus at least four years of relevant experience, or a combination of related education and work experience equal to eight years, or advanced degree plus at least two years of relevant experience.
* Strong analytical skills with established organization and project management strategies to keep track of details in the context of the larger objectives and manage multiple responsibilities and projects
* Ability to work independently, as a part of a team, and with changing priorities
* Demonstrated ability to lead projects, set and maintain deadlines, prioritize assignments, proactively problem-solve
* Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
* Experience working within Adobe Creative Suite applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Project management experience or coursework
* Experience working on federally funded projects
* Experience working in project and data management software: Slack, Smartsheet, Box, etc.
* Experience working in UM Reports and Enterprise Financial System.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $64,355 - $71,728 annual salary; depending on education/qualifications/experience
