Tactical Air Support Inc. Financial Controller Jacksonville, FL Salary Range $120,000-$155,000 DOE Position Summary Tactical Air is currently seeking a Financial Controller to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. The Controller will report directly to and partner with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to execute the company's financial strategy and ensure operational excellence across all accounting and reporting functions. This role will serve as the CFO's primary deputy for day-to-day financial operations, providing oversight of corporate accounting, financial controls, and regulatory compliance under government-contracting standards. The Controller will also collaborate with divisional and program leaders to standardize financial processes, strengthen internal controls, and improve data integrity across Tactical Air's business units. Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly, monthly and year end journal entries, financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, variance and ad-hoc reporting on both a standalone and consolidated basis).
- Collaborate closely with the CFO to support strategic objectives and performance metrics that align with Tactical Air's enterprise goals.
- Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team and lead all accounting and reporting functions (monthly, quarterly, and annual close).
- Lead and support year-end financial audits and bank audits.
- Corporate credit card administration and management.
- Account reconciliations.
- Property tax and Sales/Use tax.
- Implement and monitor financial compliance programs, internal controls, financial policies and procedures consistent with CFO-led enterprise risk management and audit requirements.
- Oversee financial audits, tax compliance and ensure adherence to internal financial governance requirements and external audit standards.
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll, GL, inventories, fixed assets, and payroll, integrating with the Unanet (ERP) system.
- Partner with the CFO and IT leadership to optimize Unanet and ensure accurate data flow for reporting, forecasting, and performance dashboards.
- Support the CFO in capital structure management, banking relationships, debt compliance, and cash-flow forecasting
- Support capital structure management, banking relationships, inter-company and transfer pricing transactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior-level accounting or financial management role, preferably within a defense, aerospace, or government-contracting organization.
- Strong understanding of DCAA/DCMA compliance in government accounting.
- CPA certification required.
- Unanet (ERP) system, business intelligence tools, and advanced financial modeling.
- Strong accounting and financial control expertise and business acumen.
- Revenue recognition and Lease accounting experience required.
- Inventory and WIP experience.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal tax reporting compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong presentation skills with ability to present financial information to key personnel and executive leadership.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in Office 365 applications.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States, complete a U.S. government I-9 form, and successfully pass a government background check.
