We are seeking a Volunteer Center Team Lead to be responsible for the overall operation of the AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteer Programs, in conjunction with the Volunteer Center Program Manager. The Volunteer Center Team Lead will work alongside the Program Manager to develop and implement strategies for program expansion and enhancement. They will provide advocacy, support, and referral information to assist volunteers, clients, and community partners (stations) to be engaged in the community and remain independent. The Volunteer Center Team Lead will monitor and oversee the work of AmeriCorps Seniors Project Coordinators and Staff Specialists for quality and thoroughness in conjunction with the Volunteer Center Program Manager. Additional responsibilities include train, support, and guide Project Coordinators and Staff Specialists and will have two direct reports.

Responsibilities include:

1. Primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteer programs, including but not limited to recruiting volunteers and organizational partners, coordinating schedules, managing resources, and maintaining program documentation.

2. Supervising the AmeriCorps Seniors Staff Specialist and Program Coordinator.

3. Supporting the Program Manager to develop and implement strategies for program expansion and enhancement.

4. Maintaining accurate volunteer information in the volunteer database and compiling and verifying AmeriCorps Seniors stipend and travel reimbursements for submission to the Volunteer Center Program Manager for approval for all three AmeriCorps Seniors programs.

5. Enhancing the total project effort through active involvement with community organizations, other national service programs, and other senior and volunteer programs.

6. Providing information and support to AmeriCorps Seniors Staff Specialists, Program Coordinators, Site Managers, and volunteers.

7. Assessing appropriateness and performance of volunteer stations.

8. Attending training conferences conducted or authorized by AmeriCorps Seniors as funding allows.

10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Knowledge and experience working with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals.

3+ years related experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available to low-income individuals and families.

Excellent customer service, organizational, oral and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection systems.

Excellent crisis management skills.

Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality of information.

Excellent attention to detail.

Ability to have re-occurring access to vulnerable populations.

Ability to successfully pass background checks as required by CTI and the Senior Corps regulations.

Strong ability to problem-solve.

Ability to work collaboratively and build partnerships.

The ability to work flexible hours including some evenings, an occasional Saturday, and to travel to local community sites in the area.
