Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Private Banking Relationship Manager to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role will be working on-site at our Beverly Hills Branch.

As a Private Banking Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for developing high net worth private client relationships and providing a full complement of banking and financial services, including residential mortgages, business lines of credit, other credit facilities, deposits and investment management for our clients. You will acquire clients by networking with your community, professional service firms and real estate brokers to build relationships and a referral network to provide superior service and help clients achieve their financial objectives. You will have the opportunity to take initiative, act entrepreneurially and grow the Bank's business in a team environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Service - Be the single point of contact for clients and run point on all inquiries and requests, ensuring they are handled in a timely manner (within our SLA) while providing outstanding service to build long lasting relationship and gather referrals.

  • Growth - Responsible for growing deposits and using credit facilities (single family, business LOC, CRE, multifamily, personal LOC) to attract private banking cliental. Having a deep understanding of credit, underwriting, pricing, risk, and treasury management products. Knowledge of local real estate markets, rates and current economy. Reporting progress on pipeline tracker and meeting regularly with leadership about prospects.

  • Collaboration - Work and build relationship with internal partners from all lines of business within the bank to expand on cross selling and providing clients with the necessary financial tools and products.

  • Marketing - Align with local associations, networking groups and COI's to market yourself and the bank. Attend events and functions where high net worth individuals and professional services are the target audience.

  • Team - Work with other private bankers on client interaction, attend client calls with other private bankers and learn processes to develop a understanding of the private bank. Assist with the training and development of less experienced members of the team.

Who you are:

  • Minimum 5 years related experience in private banking and lending required. Experience should include knowledge of banking and lending products for personal and business, real estate loans secured by various types of collateral and unsecured credit.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Finance, or related degree preferred. Or equivalent work experience.

  • High School or GED required.

  • Travel required: 10-20%

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, the general public and professional peers. A solid understanding of business and banking terminology.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to business related situations. Basic understanding of accounting, including financial statement and credit analysis skills.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Demonstrated negotiation skills.

  • Ability to create new word processing and spreadsheet files using generally accepted formats. Ability to use data base programs and other banking specific programs and to access reports. Ability to use software documentation and help features. Aptitude for learning advanced features and specialized software programs.

  • Ability to manage multiple clients, loan requests, deadlines and other priorities.

  • Utilizes critical and creative thinking skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to influence others. Customer/client orientation. Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills, Analytical thinking skills. Detail oriented. Interpersonal skills.

Salary Range: $120,000-193,500 annually

Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
