Deputy General Counsel

POSITION SUMMARY The Deputy General Counsel will serve as a key member of JBG SMITH's Legal Department and provide strategic counsel to senior leadership across a broad range of corporate, transactional, and regulatory matters. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the role will collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal professionals, manage outside counsel relationships, and serve as a trusted advisor to the C-suite on complex legal and business issues. Oversee and negotiate all documentation related to, and advise and supervise diverse internal and external participants in connection with, all aspects of real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint ventures across multifamily, office, retail, and land assets, including drafting and negotiation of letters of intent, purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, and related documentation.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS)
The compensation range for this position is $350,000 to $500,000 annually. Please note that the compensation range information provided is a general guideline. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors.
